WQB Mold Removal is a Chantilly, VA-based remediation company built around one idea: tell the customer the truth about what's in their walls, then fix it properly the first time.
We staff our Chantilly crews with people who've handled crawl-space colonization, attic condensation mold, and post-flood contamination — not just cosmetic bathroom mildew.
We carry full liability coverage on every Chantilly job, and our dispatchers can usually get a technician on-site the same day a call comes in.
A lot of Chantilly, VA homeowners have already paid someone once for a job that didn't hold up, which is part of why we document every step with photos and lab data rather than asking you to take our word for it.
We also work directly with a network of Chantilly-area contractors when a job needs drywall replacement, plumbing repair, or roofing work after remediation is complete, so you're not left juggling three different companies.
Here's what our technicians hear most often right before a homeowner finally picks up the phone.
If a room smells like a wet basement no matter how much you air it out, mold is the most likely culprit. Candles and air fresheners might mask it for an afternoon, but the smell almost always returns by the next day.
DIY drying with a box fan rarely reaches the moisture trapped inside wall cavities and subfloor. We can check behind an old repair with a moisture meter in under an hour to put your mind at ease either way.
Sneezing, coughing, or headaches that improve when you leave the house and return when you're back inside are a classic mold indicator. Air quality testing can confirm or rule out mold as the cause before you spend money chasing the wrong culprit.
Green, black, or gray speckling around windows, vents, or baseboards is often just the visible tip of a larger colony. Don't assume a small visible patch means a small problem — the portion behind the drywall is often much larger.
From a single bathroom to a flooded crawl space, our Chantilly crews scale the response to match the actual problem.
Our emergency teams arrive with containment barriers and air scrubbers ready to deploy the moment they walk in. Extraction equipment and industrial dehumidifiers go in immediately to slow the moisture before it ever has a chance to seed a new colony.
We isolate the affected area with plastic sheeting and negative air pressure so spores don't spread to the rest of your Chantilly home during the work. Affected drywall, insulation, and carpet padding are bagged and removed according to protocol rather than just tossed loose in a truck bed.
Retail spaces, offices, and multi-unit buildings in Chantilly, VA often need remediation scheduled around business hours to limit disruption. Multi-tenant properties in Chantilly sometimes need coordinated notice to residents or staff, and our project leads handle that communication directly.
Buying a Chantilly home? A pre-purchase mold inspection can catch problems a standard home inspection misses entirely. A written inspection report is available for real estate transactions, refinancing, or your own peace of mind about a Chantilly property.
Vapor barriers, sump discharge lines, and vent placement all factor into why crawl spaces in Chantilly, VA grow mold even in homes that look fine upstairs. Encapsulation and sump correction can be bundled with the remediation itself so you're not paying for two separate visits.
Dehumidification recommendations and moisture monitoring can keep a treated space from becoming a repeat customer. A small investment in prevention is almost always cheaper than paying for the same remediation twice.
We keep the process simple enough to explain over the phone in under two minutes.
Tell our dispatcher what you're seeing and smelling, and we'll get a technician on the calendar, often same-day for Chantilly addresses. Have a rough sense of when the problem started if you can — it helps us plan the visit.
We walk the property with a moisture meter and, when needed, take air or surface samples for lab analysis. We point out exactly what we're seeing as we go, not just at the end.
Negative air machines keep spores from traveling to unaffected rooms while the work is underway. Daily progress updates are available if you're not on-site during the work.
A final clearance test confirms spore counts are back to normal before we consider the job finished. Any lingering questions get answered on the spot before we pack up.
We quote a flat rate before any work begins, so there's no surprise invoice waiting for you at the end.
Dispatch times in Chantilly typically run same-day for active issues, because we staff enough local technicians to avoid the two-week backlog other companies run.
Every job includes documented before-and-after testing, not just a verbal assurance that "it's handled."
And if something doesn't sit right after we leave, our satisfaction guarantee means we come back and make it right at no extra charge.
We also try to be upfront about what we can't fix on day one — if a Chantilly home has an underlying roof or plumbing issue causing repeat moisture intrusion, we'll say so plainly instead of quietly re-treating the same spot every year.
Word of mouth is still how most of our Chantilly, VA customers find us, which tells you something about how the last job usually goes.
We stand behind every remediation job with a written guarantee, not just a handshake, because your peace of mind matters as much as the finished work.

The questions we hear before nearly every job.
Response time depends on scheduling load, but same-day or next-morning arrival is typical for Chantilly, VA service areas. If you're dealing with active water intrusion, mention that when you call so we can flag the job as urgent.
We quote the full scope up front after inspection, and that number doesn't change unless the scope does. We're happy to walk through the line items with you over the phone before you commit to anything.
Our on-call crew handles active flooding, sewage backups, and sudden mold discovery around the clock, including nights and weekends. Emergency visits include temporary containment to keep the problem from spreading while the full remediation plan is put together.
We collect air or surface samples and send them to an independent lab for species identification and spore-count analysis. We'll walk you through what the lab report actually means in plain terms, not just hand you a page of Latin names.
Some policies cover mold tied to a sudden pipe burst but exclude long-term humidity issues, so it's worth checking your specific policy language. We're glad to speak directly with your adjuster if that helps move your Chantilly claim along faster.
A single bathroom or small closet can often be completed in a day, while larger crawl space or whole-home jobs may take three to five days. We'll give you a realistic timeline estimate after the initial inspection rather than a generic number pulled from a brochure.
For most localized jobs, containment keeps the rest of the home livable, though we may recommend staying elsewhere for extensive whole-house treatment. Pets are usually fine staying in an unaffected part of the Chantilly home, but we'll flag any exceptions during the walkthrough.
Our containment and air scrubbing protocols are designed to protect the rest of the household while work is underway. Once we complete post-remediation testing and the numbers come back clean, the space is safe to use normally again.
Post-remediation testing confirms spore counts returned to normal, and our guarantee covers regrowth tied to our workmanship. If the same conditions caused a prior remediation to fail, we'll flag that risk clearly before starting the new job.
Our dispatcher can walk you through what an initial visit includes when you call to schedule. Inspection availability sometimes shifts during peak humidity months when call volume runs higher across Chantilly, VA.
Remediation focuses on removing the active colony and correcting the moisture source so the environment no longer supports abnormal growth. Any company promising 100% mold removal is stretching the truth, since outdoor and indoor air both naturally carry some spore count.
Surface cleaning with bleach may remove visible staining but rarely reaches spores embedded in porous materials like drywall or subfloor. For small, non-porous surfaces a simple cleaning may be fine, but anything on drywall, wood, or carpet usually needs a professional look.
